NRC seeks:
Driver (1 position)
Gaza City
Qualifications and Experience
-Minimum of 3 years proffesional driving experience
-A full clean driving licence
-Basic English language skills for Driver position
Main Duties:
-To safely and securely ensure the transportation of NRC personnel and deliveries throughout the Gaza Strip
-Driving staff and deliverables to and from destinations including project sites as required
-Checking the route, road, location, destination and security situation before each journey
-Recording trip details on movements prior to departure (time of departure, passengers names, destination, and expected time of arrival)
-Checking that all tools (jacks etc) and items (spare tyres and first aid kit etc) are always kept in the vehicle
-Carry out daily vehicle checks, water, oil, tyres, etc...
-Keep vehicles clean and tidy
-Keeping up to date with, and communicating any security issues affecting staff movements
-Following official orders and procedures at checkpoints to the extent that they do not compromise the safety and security of NRC personnel or NRC’s beneficiaries
-Observing safe driving practices and respecting speed limits as required within the law of Gaza
-Carry out loading/unloading duties as required
-The Driver will be required to assist with NRC related procurement and other project logistics matters.
-All NRC staff are required to be flexible in their approach to roles, responsibilities and working hours.
Commencement:March 2011
Contract period:12 months, with possible extension
