Canadian Representative Office PSU Vacancy: Gender Equality Monitor/Advisor
GENDER EQUALITY MONITOR AND ADVISOR

Acting for the Development Section of the Canadian Representative Office in Ramallah, the Program Support Unit (PSU) isseeking the services of a Gender Equality specialist to perform the following services on a part-time basis, up to 10 days per month:

1-Conduct gender analysis as it pertains to CIDA’s programming in West Bank and Gaza, in order to provide CIDA, local partners and relevant project stakeholders with regular updates and reports
2-Provide gender equality assessment on CIDA program planning in its key priority sectors in Judicial Reform, Private Sector Development and Humanitarian Assistance
3-Provide capacity-building training in Gender Equality to CIDA partners
4-Work with and advise local partners, to improve their institutional capacity to support gender equality
5-Monitor, with other CIDA specialists, partners’ performance on gender equality and share observations/ recommendations/lessons learned with CIDA and its partners

Essential qualifications
-University degree in International Development Studies, Gender Equality, Women issues, Social sciences or other relevant fields
-More than 7 years experience working on Gender Equality and development support to women
-Good knowledge of development reforms, women rights, gender equality principles and concepts, civil society, women organizations
-Good analytical skills
-Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic as well as computer applications
-Good understanding of the development environment in West Bank and Gaza
-Ability to travel extensively in West Bank
-Ability to work from home

Timeline: This is a one year contract with possibility of renewal
Rate: The consultant will be paid US$30 /hour
